Can I participate in this program? Yes - as long as you meet all of the qualifications. MEBT was designed to provide benefit solutions to churches of all sizes, including those who have only one employee. There was a time that having only one employee was a roadblock to getting great insurance - not anymore! Is MEBT available in all 50 states? Currently, MEBT is approved to write business in 23 states. If MEBT is not available in your area at this time, please check back as we are seeking to have MEBT available to ministries in all 50 states. This program sounds great - it also sounds expensive too. MEBT has been able to deliver significant savings to our groups with much lower than average premiums. The money that is saved on premiums helps go back toward what you do best - minister. What kind of benefits does MEBT offer? We offer the choice of multiple Blue Shield PPO plans along with the simplicity of Sharp HMO Plans (San Diego and Riverside CA areas only). There are also core benefits of joining MEBT which include Group Life, Long Term Disability and an Employee Assistance Program- all at no additional cost. Add in your choice of voluntary dental and vision plans and you have created an excellent benefits package for your employees. Depending on your ministry needs, you will be receiving great care any way you go. What kind of ongoing administrative support is available for my employees/participants? MEBT has contracted Double Honor Benefits Insurance Services to act as a full time administrator to assist all participants with their questions, concerns and issues. How does the program work with pre-existing conditions? MEBT is a medically underwritten plan. Ministries qualify for the plan via the use of health questionnaires which are then underwritten by our actuaries. If you qualify, and have existing medical coverage, there may not be an exclusion for pre-existing conditions. What are the qualifications for a ministry to participate in MEBT? Do I have to belong to a certain denomination or association? To qualify for MEBT, the ministry must be a non-profit, evangelical, faith-based organization. You also must sign a Statement of Faith to participate in MEBT; however your ministry does not have to belong to a specific association or denomination to participate in MEBT. Our organization is a Christian School. Can we participate in MEBT? Yes - as long as you meet all of the qualifications. MEBT was designed to assist not only churches but also Christian schools and other faith-based ministries. |
